The Brain Bar is a unique initiative started by the ingenious neurobics instructor and Brain Fitness Coach named Jess Brain in New York, USA. It aims to encourage individuals to dedicate time to exercise, heal and regenerate their brain cells by incorporating various neurobic and brain gym exercises. Interestingly, there are methods that can help your brain grow and become more creative. However, you must know the critical elements required to achieve the desired cognitive performance ability for your brain. Proper brain training sharpens your memory like an elephant, improves your concentration skills, and makes you more mindful of the present moment. Brain training is similar to gym training, and to achieve the desired results, you must be sincere in the daily practice of all the techniques and exercises apart from allocating enough time for you to have a good sleep and rest your brain. This is essential because your brain cells grow and heal in the same way as your body muscles develop when they get adequate rest at night after hard training. This article tends to explore the essential aspects of the Brain Bar, the brain gym exercises, and how it impacts the globe.
WHO IS JESS BRAIN?
Originally from Australia, Jess Brain is an aspiring American immigrant who feels she became motivated to study the theory of the brain by deriving inspiration from her last name, Brain. Since her childhood in Australia, Jess became passionate about brain training after observing people exercising their bodies and caring for their physical health like a temple. This made her think that if one can dedicate time towards their outside body, why not develop ways to exercise and heal our mental health? Jess Brain made her dream a reality when she shifted to the United States and started her Brain Bar program, where she offers online programs teaching neurobic and brain gym exercises and promotes laughter therapy through her complimentary weekly online laughter club on Zoom.
BRAIN TRAINING (NEUROBICS)
Neurobics is an umbrella term for brain training exercises that has various components. Here is a list of a few popular brain gym exercises.
Nose To Ear
This is a beautiful technique in which you put your left hand on your nose and touch your right, and with your right hand, you feel your left ear. Then quickly change turns and do it the alternate way with your right hand on the nose and left hand on the right ear. Do repeated rounds of this exercise and challenge yourself by increasing its frequency.
Acupressure Massage
Another innovative technique is that with one hand, you gently massage your neck, and with the other hand, you massage your stomach and give it acupressure pressure. Do it alternatively and increase the speed if you feel energetic.
Cross Crawling
Stand straight with your legs apart and shoulders straight. Lift your right hand above your head and your left leg off the floor. Bend your left knee and right elbow, and try the left knee with your right elbow. Then change positions and do it the opposite way.
The Elephant
One of the most playful exercises in which you keep one hand behind you and extend the other over your head such that your upper arm touches your ear and head. Then change positions and do it the opposite way.
The Thinking Cap
One of the most powerful exercises in which you hold both ears with your index finger and thumb. After this, roll and unroll your ears. Remember to smile.
